Le Wagon is a coding bootcamp: students learn to develop web applications from scratch. 

Since 2017, Le Wagon Lille and the MSc in Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence have partnered and offer students a 9-week Bootcamp to learn how to code.

The initial objective is clear: open students’ minds, teach them the basics of computer programming and break down the barriers between business and technology. The programme focuses on practice and collaborative work. It teaches all the necessary skills to build a technological product (design, prototyping, code, production launch) and allows students to create their own project during the last 9 days of the training.   • Workshop Introduction to R: The course objective is to provide students with a basic knowledge of R. The coding tools will be used to analyse Google, smartphone and climate data among others.
  • Advanced Excel for Business Analytics: The course aim is to reinforce students competency in using MS Excel as a business modelling tool. In particular, the course will focus on designing robust, reliable, easy to maintain and update models, manipulating and organising large data set, understanding and implementing different probability distribution functions when modelling business problems, and defining and programming performance optimisation problems aimed at maximising/minimizing a business function outcome. 
  • R for Data Sciences: Although there are currently a wide variety of software packages suitable for the modern statistician, R has the triple advantage of being comprehensive, widespread, and free. The lectures focus on modern tools to manipulate and visualize data with R.
  • Building Data Sciences Toolkit with Python: This course will decipher the keys areas of machine learning using Python.
  • Programming with Python: This course will focus on scientific computing with Python.

  • Statistical Models: Collection and analysis of data enhance business insights. Statistical models are powerful tools for data analysis. The most well-known statistical model is the linear regression model, where a variable of interest is explained and predicted by a collection of other variables. In this course, we start from the linear regression model and show how it can be applied and extended. The focus is on understanding the methods and applying them to data using the software.
  • Advanced Statistical Models (Data science track): This course will provide mathematical and statistical foundations of parametric, semi-parametric and non-parametric models.
  • Data Mining: In business and society, in general, there is an abundance of data available. The process of retrieving useful information from these data is called data mining. In this course, we present different data mining methods and show they can be useful for management purposes. We will perform analysis using the R software. The focus is on understanding, intuition, limitations, and practical use of the methods.
  • Workshop Time-series Forecasting for Business Analytics: In business practice, it is important to forecast future values of business and economics series like sales, profit, inflation, and many other economic and business performance indicators. Time series modelling allows making such forecasts. The course focuses on those methods.
  • Machine Learning for Time Series Analysis (Data Science track): This course will develop further expertise in time series analysis using recent advances in machine learning/data science.
  • Introduction to Machine Learning: This course provides an introduction to statistical learning algorithms with a focus on regression, supervised classification and scoring methods. After a presentation of the mathematical setting, the lecture presents some of the most important learning algorithms (penalized regressions, tree algorithms, boosting, random forests). For each algorithm, a particular focus will be done on the estimation of the performances. Applications of the proposed methods on real and simulated data are presented.
  • Advanced Supervised Learning (Data Science track): This course will develop the statistical and mathematical foundations of supervised learning methods.
  • Building Data Sciences Toolkit: This course will provide more advanced insights on machine learning techniques. Special attention will be paid to the algorithmic foundations (in Python) of the theoretical implementation of the state-of-the-art data science methods.
  • Advanced Data Sciences (Data Science track): This course will provide deep insights into some of the techniques required for statistical and machine learning. Special attention will be paid to the theoretical and mathematical foundations of the field (empirical risk minimization, supervised and unsupervised classification, prediction, performance guarantees, etc.).
  • Deep Learning (Data Science Track): This course will provide insights into some of the techniques required for deep learning, especially Perceptron, multilayers perceptron, convolutional neural networks, and recurrent neural networks.
  • Data Visualisation: You will learn how to use Tableau Software to create advanced, interactive dashboards and create Data Visualizations that helps to answer business questions and make decisions.
  • Advanced Data Visualisation: This course will provide more advanced tools for data viz using up-to-date tools of Le Tableau Software.
  • Data Visualisation and Storytelling: This course will emphasize principles, theory, processes, and techniques used to build effective visuals helping students to choose the best way to show data and communicate with data. This lecture relies heavily on the practical application of data visualization and case studies and will give students the foundations they need to be able to present data using engaging and impactful visual design and tell stories about the data that resonate to the audience. 
 
 
  • Data Analytics: This course will focus on different applications of data analytics, namely CRM - Digital Marketing,  Risk,  Fraud Detection,  Operational efficiency, and New Business Models.
  • Web Analytics: This course will emphasize principles, concepts, and systems used in digital marketing, SEO (search engine optimization), SEA (search engine advertising) and SEM (search engine marketing). This lecture is adapted to students who want to work in the digital sector and will give them skills and competencies for operational decision in the digital sector. A focus will be done on the certification and keywords referencing (Ads/Analytics). In this course, students will learn how to drive traffic to a website through a multi-channel approach and convert visitors into customers. They will also learn how to create effective digital campaign strategies using viral marketing and online ads with Google Ads.
  • Advanced Web Analytics: This course will provide more advanced tools to analyse and conduct web analytics.
  • Customer Analytics: This course provides insights into some techniques required for customer modelling. Especially, students will be able to build CRM models for customer acquisition/up- or cross-sell/customer churn and segmentation, to take appropriate business decisions based on the outcomes of analytical models and communicating results and conclusions towards professionals, and to analyze and develop a customer management strategy for an organisation.
  • Customer Intelligence: Contemporary approaches to business, and especially marketing, emphasize the importance of adopting a customer focus. Notably, an essential component to success is customer/consumer insights. The objective of this course is to acquire knowledge about where and how such customer intelligence can be gathered. In this course, students will learn how to collect and interpret various offline and online customer intelligence methodologies, and learn how to transform such data into customer-based strategies using experimental designs, text mining and customer journey analysis.
  • Supply Chain Analytics: This course will explore the essentials of supply chain technologies, performances and analytics. Especially, the core methodologies in supply chain analysis and modeling will be presented and discuted through case studies. Moreover, you will learn how choices are made with respect to corporate strategy, brand, and time to market.
  • Case Studies in Business Analytics (Business Analytics track): The course will give students the opportunity to evaluate typical business analytics in a “hands-on” approach/ Notably the course illustrates how different quantitative
    approaches can be used together with the wide variety of data available to businesses, to support decision making in all key management functions.
  • Demand Management & Performance Optimisation (Business Analytics track): The course will focus on the implementation of predictive and prescriptive models/methods within key business management processes in support of more effective decisions. The efficiency of most business decisions, regardless of heir types and market sectors, depends crucially on the reliability of the forecasts used for evaluating different outcomes and eventually choosing the “best” options. The course illustrates how Demand Management and Performance Maximisation, generates significant performance gains across an organisation.

    • Foundations of Artificial Intelligence: This course will focus on understanding the opportunities and implications of artificial intelligence in the management of companies, organizations, industries and business ecosystems.  It will also discuss the innovations that support managers in the incubation, evolution, adoption and implementation of AI tech.
    • Artificial Intelligence: Technological, Social and Economic Impacts: The ability to collect and organise more and more data, the development of machine learning and the massive investments of the tech giants and VCs have been strong catalysts to support the development of AI.  Arguably the rise of AI  and its dissemination are among the main challenges our society will face in the 21st century. By analysing AI trends through the technological, the societal and the economic impacts, this course will allow students to understand AI phenomena and its challenges.
    • Business Applications of Artificial Intelligence: In this course, students will get the foundational understanding of where we are today with Artificial Intelligence (AI) both from a technology standpoint and from a business standpoint---AI being defined as a collection of technologies inspired by the goal of understanding and implementing intelligent behaviors.  Key AI technologies will be covered like machine learning, deep learning and computer vision, natural language processing and a strong focus will be on the business implications of AI.
    • Big Data & Blockchain: new challenges for firms: The objective of this course is to learn students the technical concepts underlying Big Data technologies and Blockchains. In addition, students will be sensitized to governance issues for firms and society at large.

    • Introduction to Digital Transformation: This course will explain the process of digital transformation. Based on the 4 “key success factors in the digital” – platform, co-creation, delivery, managing change – and around the example of e-commerce, this course is adapted to anyone who needs to understand the digital transformation from a global perspective, and not only technical. A particular focus will be done on soft skills – digital transformation is foremost all about human interactions. Students will have the opportunity to work around a business case.
    • Project Management: This course will provide students with executive insights into the fundamentals of project management. It will provide both the traditional and the modern “Agile” frameworks used in various industries in order to increase efficiencies and the likelihood of success of complex projects. The course will include lectures by the instructor, readings, case studies, presentations and class discussions.
    • Managing Innovation & Digital Transformation: This course has two main objectives. First, it prepares students for the challenges of managing innovation & digital transformation within existing companies.  Second, it makes students aware of the different generic use cases of Big Data in companies and allows them to develop a high-level Big Data Strategy.  
    • Digital Marketing (Business Analytics track): Data science plays a key role in understanding consumer behavior. But managers must also understand the foundation, the logic and new forms of customer behavior in an ever-changing digital world. This is where digital marketing comes into play!
    • Digital Marketing Strategy: The objective of this course is to introduce students to the strategic and tactical issues of digital marketing and for them to apply this knowledge in case studies and exercises.
    • Digital Strategy: Business organisations increasingly depend on digital technologies. However, managers regularly complain that their technology investments and solutions often fall short of expectations. They face problems in planning, evaluating, implementing and reviewing technological decisions. Central to overcoming these problems is an appreciation of the digital strategy of the company. To take advantage of opportunities created by the digital economy, companies need to transform their strategy, technological infrastructure, and operations. This often entails building digital platforms or engaging in a collaborative ecosystem.
    • Digital Ecosystem Around Business Marketing (Business Analytics track): The purpose of this course is to identify the main stakeholders around Digital Marketing from a business perspective, and explore how they actually interact with each other.
    • Data Regulation: Data Ownership & Protection: Data regulation is a fundamental issue in data and business analytics. This course is designed to provide you the key concepts and issues related to data ownership and protection (e.g., consumer’s privacy). Moreover, a special focus on the GDPR will be conducted during the course.

     

     

    This course is a practical, hands-on approach to key advanced Machine Learning algorithms and their applicability to solving business problems.You will have the opportunity to review all of the Machine Learning algorithms you have learned in your other classes. During this course, further examples will be demonstrated using Python and R, and you will develop your own project.

    Learn how the Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the world of business. This course explores the way companies are leveraging IoT technologies and the unique challenges that arise with the massive adoption of these new technologies. Through a series of case studies, you will discover the way organisations are adopting and implementing IoT and addressing the challenges of IoT management at a large scale. You will learn to use the IBM Internet of Things Foundation to manage and implement IoT devices and apply them to key industry use cases.

    In this course you will learn how cities create value from data, cloud and citizen engagement and how data and information technology influence city-effectiveness in planning and management, optimisation of city infrastructure and supporting the needs of each citizen. Using case studies, the course will explore solutions for Smarter Water Management, Smarter Transportation Systems, and Smarter Energy.  The goal is to give you a deeper understanding of how big data, internet of things, and advanced data analysis can help intelligent urbanization and shape cities and urban areas.

    The commercial exploitation of advanced data analytics and big data raises a number of concerns from an ethical viewpoint, ranging from privacy, discrimination, manipulative nudging all the way to risks of deepening social inequalities. At the same time, big data holds the promise of improving our knowledge about human behaviour and society, which could, if well used, ease precisely the aforementioned problems. In this course, you will learn to analyse the negative and positive potential of big data from a normative standpoint.

    This course caters to students wanting to work in the healthcare sector. You will learn the principles, concepts, and systems used in the field and discover how the implementation of IT is disrupting the industry. You will gain the newly needed skills and competencies for managerial decision making in this sector and learn how E-health, M-Health, and IoT are playing a central role in the medical environment.

    EDHEC offers various scholarships & financial aids based on merit and financial need of the student. The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs also offers a large number of grants and scholarships. Lastly, students accepted to EDHEC are entitled to apply for private loans to cover the cost of their tuition fees.

    The EIFFEL Scholarship offers financial support to high-achieving international candidates. It awards about €1200 per month. The scholarship is financed and managed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development

    Who can apply:

    Any students under 30 years with an excellence profile:

    • GMAT 650 or above (GRE accepted). Please note that it is not mandatory for programmes not requiring this GMAT test. 
    • Acceptable English proficiency tests/certificates (TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS)

    • Yes, you can make scanned colour copies of the documents required.

    Should the application file and the two recommendation letters be typed or written freehand?

    • Recommendation letters: our templates can be used or written freehand.

    Will the International Admissions’ team contact the referees to send the letters of recommendation?

    • No, referees should email their letters of recommendation directly to international.admissions@edhec.edu using their professional email. Emails from personal accounts such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. will not be accepted.

    Will my referees receive an automatic confirmation when they send the letters by email?

    • No, no automatic email will be sent to your referees. Please inform them that they should expect to receive an email confirmation later from the Admissions’ team.
    • Please note that you will be copied to this email as well to acknowledge the well reception of the letters of recommendation.

    Will I have an interview with the Programme Manager?

    • There is no direct interview with the Programme Manager for students applying for our MIM or MSc programmes unless the Programme Director thinks it is necessary.

    Can I apply for more than one programme?

    • It is possible to apply for two programmes.  A separate motivation letter is required for each programme.

    What is the difference between the MIM and MSc?

    • The EDHEC Master in Management is a 2-year programme designed for students under 29 seeking to increase their general management skills. Also known as "Grande Ecole", the programme awards students a double degree: Year 1: Master in Management degree and Year 2: Master of Science degree
    • Our MSc are specialised programmes accessible to students who wish to acquire a new knowledge in a specific field or further strengthen their existing expertise.

    Is there any help for students on campus regarding housing?

    • Once officially enrolled, you will be assisted to find a suitable accommodation either in the EDHEC residence or in privately owned flats. EDHEC's International Office is familiar with the VISA formalities of most countries and will provide you with the necessary papers. You may contact the International Office to express your concerns about your visa application, provided you have already checked the necessary pages on the Welcome Guide and contacted your local Embassay first. One of the requirements for most VISA applications is proof of accommodation in France. Again the international Office is on hand to provide you with a list of apartments, halls of residence and other types of housing according to your criteria. You can even "visit" them virtually using our new Housing website. The team will do everything they can to make arrangements with the owner and secure your reservation. It will also pick you up from the airport on your day of arrival (when possible) and take you directly to your new home.

    Is GMAT compulsory?

    • The GMAT test is compulsory for most of EDHEC Master programmes. Please check the “Admissions Requirements” of your programme of interest to confirm whether the exam is required.

    Why is GMAT compulsory for most of our programmes?

    • EDHEC is accredited EQUIS, AASCSB and AMBA. We are obliged to maintain high quality among students and the GMAT is a good measure of this quality.

    Can I add an unofficial GMAT score report to my application file?

    • You will get an unofficial score report immediately after the test and which you should send to the admissions office. This document will provisionally be accepted in your application file.

     

    EDHEC offers scholarships and financial aid to candidates with excellent profiles. External financial aid is also available to EDHEC applicants.

    What is the EIFFEL Scholarship?

    • The EIFFEL Scholarship programme offers financial support to high-potential candidates of over € 1000 per month. Applications for the EIFFEL Scholarship need to be submitted to EDHEC before December 1st.


    When the tuition fees must be paid?

    • Once accepted by the Selection Committee, you will receive by email a tuition fees payment's schedule. You must make your first payment in order to secure your seat into the programme and get your enrolment letter.

    How does the financial aid apply to the tuition fees?

    • Financial aid applies to the second and third instalment for the MSc programme and to the second, third and fourth instalment for the MIM programme.

     

    What is the EDHEC Career Center?

    • The Student Career Centre is dedicated to help students find a job or an internship. The Centre receives every year over 14 000 job and internship offers.

    Complementary courses in French are offered to all international students enrolled in our MSc programmes. Our French classes cover all learning levels, from complete beginner to advanced study. The goal is to support your acculturation to French culture and give you the linguistic foundation—grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening—to express yourself in the French language.

    • Class Size: 15 students per group
