This course emphasizes the use of accounting information to assist managers in making sound business decisions.

This course focuses on strategic analysis, sense-making, strategic option formation, evaluation, decision-making and strategy implementation in real business contexts. You will develop an insight-driven, strategic thinking approach to strategic management. The course objective is to enable you to develop an understanding of current thinking and theoretical as well as practice-oriented approaches to strategy and the field of strategic management.

The purpose of this course is to highlight some important dimensions of ethics in business. After an introduction to ethics and to the main approaches to ethical decision making, we zoom in on more specific questions related to professional ethics, and transnational dimensions of ethics.

This module aims to provide knowledge and understanding of key management issues in corporate finance with a focus on a broad range of issues including that of corporate investment and the financing of such investments. You will learn to critically assess various analytical techniques in relation to specific corporate finance applications and develop a knowledge of key board-level considerations.  The course provides knowledge and understanding of the often conflicting forces that determine capital structure and dividend decisions, allowing you to gain a better understanding of the motivations of corporate decisions.

Every day, new online businesses are created by established firms, while many Internet start-ups are founded around new concepts and business models. This course aims at investigating the unique features of digital innovations, namely how they differ from innovations in the physical world and how to exploit these differences in order to create successful digital innovations. You will study various types of digital innovations: internet retailing, online search engines, services built around these search engines (e.g., search engine optimization), and crowdsourcing. Artificial Intelligence being one of the most disruptive technologies emerging today, this course will also form managers to understand the impacts of AI, separate the vision from the practical application and structure transformative initiatives.

The purpose of this course is to provide you with the fundamental knowledge of marketing.  You will learn to develop the skills to design and implement a successful marketing strategy as well as to create customer and firm value.

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of business statistics. You will learn to use the most widely-used statistics and software to understand and critically analyse data. The course will teach you how to collect relevant data, identify outliers, and apply multiple regression analysis to predict unknown values.

Thanks to the impressive digitalization of organizations’ processes, Information Systems (IS) have become so important, ubiquitous and prevalent to the extent that they are fundamental to the success of any organization. Additionally, Big Data and data analytics are the lifeblood of any successful business. Getting the technology right can be challenging but building the right knowledge and the right skills to undertake big data initiatives can be even harder. This course aims at helping the student in making sense of the degree to IS can be employed to help in pursuing organizations’ business goals. The course will also enable the students to solve business problems by using business analytics advanced techniques (business analytics methods & tools using both descriptive analytics and predictive analytics).

The course takes a practical and professional perspective on how national and international law shapes the practices of a multinational organization as it develops, expands, employs, sources and engages in a host of other activities in several countries, all such activity possibly leading to litigation of different forms that can take place in international and transnational transactions. The case studies of specific situations faced by multinational organizations reviewed in light of international business constraints, objectives and legal environment are featured in this module.

Operations management is a key ingredient in the management of companies and provides both a strategic perspective, striving to improve quality, customer service, and competitive success, and a practical perspective, examining the practical issues which organizations face on a day-to-day basis. In this course, we will focus on specific topics within the operations management field, from the design, via the planning and control to inventory, lean and project management.

In alignment with the global shift from manufacturing economies to service and knowledge economics, business practitioners are facing new knowledge needs when evaluating a business decision. To succeed in a dynamic knowledge-based business environment, business practitioners need to know how to identify high-quality information and how to recognize objective and reliable research on which high-risk decisions can be based. As a future manager, you will need to know how to conduct high-quality research. In this course, you will develop the necessary skills to understand the scientific method as it applies to the managerial decision-making environment.

This seminar is part of an overall Reflexive Manager Programme (RMP) that provides students with a reflective forum to make greater applicable sense of their management knowledge, concrete experience and in-class discussion of management practice.   This seminar will help you to move beyond restrictive Sensemaking procedures in order to evaluate the needs of given managerial and leadership situations. It will also enable you to apply key learning to everyday complexity in management.  It will increase self-awareness and understanding of your ability to overcome the limitations of collective Sensemaking.
