You will take three of these 5 foundation courses in an online format in the July/August period. According to your background, the Selection Committee may require specific classes or you may choose three courses from this list. 

The objective of this course is to provide you with a solid grounding in the principles and practice of finance and develop the understanding of the tools necessary to make good financial decisions. This module aims to provide knowledge and understanding of key management issues in corporate finance and in the market for financial assets.

This course is run as a combination of two modules: Basics in Statistics and Introduction to Coding with R through EDHEC’s Online Unit. We strongly recommend completing the modules in parallel, one week at a time.

This Basics in Statistics module presents the basic principles of statistical data analysis (description, estimation, testing), as well as the most common statistical methods such as linear regression.

The Introduction to Coding with R module

  • Introduces R, a standard and powerful programming language well suited for data analysis: its objects and its syntax
  • Presents Anaconda and RStudio, two user-friendly working environments for R
  • Presents selected built-in functions that perform common tasks.

The course is designed to provide you with an overview of the foundations of financial accounting with a practical focus on Financial statement analysis and the valuation of public organizations. These foundations are deemed necessary in order for students to successfully pursue the course of their studies at the Master's level.

The purpose of this course is to provide you with fundamental knowledge in Marketing, and to demonstrate the key role marketing takes within any organisation. You will gain a better understanding of what marketing is and what its role in the firm is, of the process of value creation from the perspective of customers, producers, and society at large. You will be know how to mix various marketing tools and techniques in a coherent manner.

This course’s primary objective is to help you answer several important strategic questions for companies or organizations, such as: What business shall we be in? How to compete for resources and create value? How to organize for and assess performance?... The course focuses on the complex and multidimensional nature of strategic decision-making.

 

Communication is one of the most visible marketing tool. It is therefore important for students specializing in marketing to learn about communication strategies & implementation. In addition, nowadays, brands are omnipresent. Most companies communicate about brands instead of products. Brand Management has become one of the most important key marketing missions. This class mixes both aspects: brand management and the role of communication to achieve it. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to perform and brand diagnosis and provide recommendations and develop a communication strategy and propose the appropriate communication tools.

This course will help you better understand ethical issues related to business and the economy, and more particularly related to marketing. You will learn the practical implementation of ethical standards in marketing by analyzing controversial marketing campaigns and by studying innovative ethically sound initiatives. Upon completion of the course, you will develop a real understanding of the types of ethical issues encountered in marketing and both company and consumer responses to them which will help you resolve key issues in a specific marketing ethics problem.

For companies, it is increasingly important to not only be able to operate their current business but also to explore new pockets of value that could be emerging and new to them, new to the industry or even new to the world. Innovative offerings and innovative strategies are the results of connecting previously unconnected planes of thought from within and outside of the company. This course will place you in the middle of a real-life, multi-party innovation project in which you will be challenged to develop a novel business opportunity by connecting customer desirability, technical feasibility, and financial viability. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to leverage foresight and apply strategic design tools to develop new businesses and run a multi-client project and develop clear recommendations. This course provides a hands-on understanding of processes and decisions involved in developing and implementing international marketing strategies. You will learn various concepts and tools for analyzing and evaluating international markets. The course will emphasize the challenges faced by international marketing such as deglobalization, protectionism, digital transformation & AI, social responsibility, and ethics. You will gain a good understanding of the field of international marketing and become firmly grounded in the current realities of the global marketplace. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to apply personal and interpersonal skills appropriate to being an effective member of an international marketing team and develop a comprehensive course of action for a business firm using formal decision-making processes in the development of international marketing strategy.

In a business world that is more and more consumer-centric, understanding qualitative and quantitative market research roles becomes critical. This course will provide you with a clear understanding of the core principles of market research, as well as concrete skills around how to build the most appropriate research design (methodology, techniques, sample...), how to write and implement a questionnaire/discussion guide and how to conduct an analysis from a professional and real-life point of view. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to build a qualitative discussion guide and a quantitative questionnaire – capitalizing on best practices and identifying bias and conduct a quantitative analysis – using a statistical tool (SPSS) and developing their analytical skills when dealing with marketing business questions based on concrete examples.

Over the last two decades political, social, and technological developments have disrupted the strategic business landscape in almost every country around the world. There is an ongoing paradigm shift towards a more service-dominant, digital, and global economy. As a result, future managers are confronted with an increased need to justify their trade-offs in the managerial decision-making process. Business research can be defined as the systematic inquiry which provides information for managerial decision-making. As a future manager, you will need to understand how effective business research can provide high-quality information to improve managerial decision-making. The business research process is a sequential process based on scientific methods and allows future managers to understand, evaluate as well as conduct research to improve managerial decision-making.

In alignment with the shift from the former socialist president Francois Hollande to left-leaning fiscal conservative president Emmanuel Macron, France is ready for a change. We ‘need a strong France with a sense of its own destiny’ (Macron, 2017). To succeed in the French dynamic knowledge-based business environment, individuals need to understand the unique French socio-cultural environment. As a potential future French manager, you will need to understand the French workers’ rights and draw the links between business and political ideals. Hence, the primary objective of the course socio-cultural France is to develop the necessary skills to understand the complexity of French business.

Digital technologies are revolutionizing the field of marketing by providing marketers with an unprecedented and diverse new set of tools to reach, engage, understand, and respond to consumers. This course aims to provide you with the foundation for planning a digital marketing campaign. You will gain a solid understanding of various digital marketing tools and practice on a company-sponsored project to design and implement a digital marketing campaign and measure its effectiveness. In addition, the course will focus on how to create content that can resonate with consumers to help businesses differentiate themselves in competitive markets. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to develop a purposeful digital marketing strategy to achieve your business and marketing goals and evaluate and measure the success of digital marketing campaigns.

Because you will soon have the opportunity to manage projects and teams, this course familiarizes you with the study and the practice of leadership, i.e., the art and science of influencing and motivating people to actually apply the strategy you defined and hope to implement. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your personal leadership style and learn tips and tricks on how to effectively lead others. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to apply sustainable strategizing approaches, design business models for sustainability, identify key elements for making strategy happen and identify your personal leadership style, link it to your professional ambitions, and develop your personal leadership skills for day-to-day business life.

EDHEC's Chair in Leadership Development is launching a Certificate in Reflexive and Positive Leadership in 2022 with its partner Potentialife. Based on Potentialife’s 18 years of experience in deploying Learning Teams™ and a course called "Reflexive Leader" in schools and companies, this 90-hour course will help students to develop self-leadership and, thus, their capacity to lead others, with both a high degree of reflexivity and positivity. This certificate should help future managers set out a practical framework for legal risk management (the identification, measurement and mitigation of legal and regulatory risks). Upon completion of the certification, you will be able to assess the impact of legal risks in terms of value destruction and identify the major legal risks your company is facing.

 In a context of volatile, complex, and ambiguous change, agile transformations are at the heart of every company’s agenda. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the necessity of change, the challenges of transformations, and their operational implications at a company scale, from a strategic and an operational point of view. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with the roles of product owner and change leader by taking part in a consulting case study. You can prepare for two certificates: Professional Scrum Product Owner level 1 and SAFe SA – SAFe Agilist, by Scaled Agile.

Scholarships and financial aids can be critical factors when it comes to embarking on a Master's program, so we aim to make the process as simple as possible. All admitted candidates are automatically considered for an EDHEC scholarship. Results from the scholarship committee are announced by email at the same time as the admission result. EDHEC Academic Excellence Scholarship offers high-potential candidates up to 50% reduction on their tuition fees. The scholarship supports high-profile candidates based on the excellence of their academic profile, impressive experience and extracurricular activities.

  • EDHEC Make an Impact Scholarship* is open to Master in Management and Master of Science applicants and covers 35 % of the tuition fees.
    • How to apply: students who wish to apply for the EDHEC Make an Impact Scholarship will need to submit an essay of 1000-1500 words along with their application, detailing their career plan. The essay should describe their prior experience, explain how the Master of their choice will contribute to their career plan and, their personal motives for making an impact on UN sustainable development goals throughout their career. 
  • EDHEC High Impact - Future Chinese Alumni Scholarship* is a joint co-sponsored scholarship with the EDHEC China Alumni Club awarding 10 Chinese students who are willing to make an impact on the EDHEC China Alumni community in the future, by granting them 50% reduction on their tuition fees.
    • Who can apply: Chinese students who have been accepted into EDHEC's Master's programs with high ranks from our selection committee.
    • How to apply: students who wish to apply for this scholarship should write an essay describing their prior experience, explain how the Master of their choice will contribute to their career plan. Applicants to this scheme will be invited to take an online interview.
    • Deadline: May 15th.

EDHEC scholarships are not cumulative.

  • EDHEC French Embassy Co-Financed in Russia is a joint initiative of EDHEC Business School & the Embassy of France in Russia. This scholarship is offered to the Russian citizens and to Russian students (1 scholarship of 100% for a MSc program) graduated from Russian Universities with an excellent academic background, clear academic vison and career objectives.

The International Students Office (ISO) assists students to settle in smoothly in France by organising orientation events and multicultural seminars to welcome international students to EDHEC Campuses in Lille and Nice. The team guides students with administrative procedures before their arrival and during their stay and answers all questions about French systems (medical and home insurances, banks, resident permits, etc.).

What are the deadlines to apply for the programmes?

Do you accept scanned documents?

  • Yes, you can make scanned colour copies of the documents required.

Should the application file and the two recommendation letters be typed or written freehand?

Will the International Admissions’ team contact the referees to send the letters of recommendation?

  • No, referees should email their letters of recommendation directly to [email protected] using their professional email. Emails from personal accounts such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. will not be accepted.

Will my referees receive an automatic confirmation when they send the letters by email?

  • No, no automatic email will be sent to your referees. Please inform them that they should expect to receive an email confirmation later from the Admissions’ team.
  • Please note that you will be copied to this email as well to acknowledge the good reception of the letters of recommendation.

Will I have an interview with the Programme Manager?

  • There is no direct interview with the Programme Manager for students applying for our MIM or MSc programmes unless the Programme Director thinks it is necessary.

How is the Online interview conducted?

  • Once your online application is complete, the International Admissions Team will send you a link to take your online interview in English. It is a series of 6 questions on your motivation, your interest in the programme, your previous experiences (professional, group work…). There is no right or wrong answer. You will have a practice session before you start the interview. Once the interview is done, it will be sent along with your application file to the Selection Committee.

Can I apply for more than one programme?

  • It is possible to apply for two programmes.  A separate motivation letter is required for each programme.

  • Waivers apply for native-English speakers and for those who have studied in English.

Is there any help for students with regard to campus housing? 

  • Once officially enrolled, you will receive help to find suitable accommodation, either in EDHEC residences or in privately owned apartments. EDHEC's International Students Office (ISO) is familiar with the visa formalities of most countries and will provide you with the necessary paperwork for completion. Should you have any concerns about your visa application, you can contact the ISO, provided you have already checked the relevant pages in the Welcome Guide and contacted your local Embassy. One requirement for most visa applications is proof of accommodation in France. Again, the ISO is on hand to provide you with a list of apartments, halls of residence and other types of housing, depending on your criteria. You can even "visit" them virtually on our new housing website. The team will do everything it can to make arrangements with the property owner and secure your booking. It can also pick you up from the airport on the day of your arrival (where possible) and take you directly to your new home.

Can I add an unofficial GMAT score report to my application file?

  • You will get an unofficial score report immediately after taking your exam. You can send it to the recruitment office as an extra supporting document whilst applying. This document will provisionally be accepted in your application file and the official report will be asked to confirm your seat.

 


When the tuition fees must be paid?

  • Once the Selection Committee has accepted your application, you will receive an acceptance email including your tuition fee payment schedule. In order to secure your place you have to pay the 1st instalment within 3 weeks.

How does financial aid apply to the tuition fees?

  • Financial aid applies to the second and third instalment for the MSc programme and to the second, third and fourth instalment for the MIM programme.

 

What is the EDHEC Career Centre?

  • The Student Career Centre is dedicated to helping students find a job or an internship.
  • The Centre receives every year over 14 000 job and internship offers.
  • 60,000 internships and 33,500 job offers posted on EDHEC’s dedicated jobs board every year
     

Complementary courses in French are offered to all international students enrolled in our MSc programmes. Our French classes cover all learning levels, from complete beginner to advanced study. The goal is to support your acculturation to French culture and give you the linguistic foundation—grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening—to express yourself in the French language.
