You will take three of these 5 foundation courses in an online format in the July/August period. According to your background, the Selection Committee may require specific classes or you may choose three courses from this list.

The objective of this course is to provide you with a solid grounding in the principles and practice of finance and develop the understanding of the tools necessary to make good financial decisions. This module aims to provide knowledge and understanding of key management issues in corporate finance and in the market for financial assets.

This course is run as a combination of two modules: Basics in Statistics and Introduction to Coding with R through EDHEC’s Online Unit. We strongly recommend completing the modules in parallel, one week at a time.

This Basics in Statistics module presents the basic principles of statistical data analysis (description, estimation, testing), as well as the most common statistical methods such as linear regression.

  • The Introduction to Coding with R module
  • Introduces R, a standard and powerful programming language well suited for data analysis: its objects and its syntax
  • Presents Anaconda and RStudio, two user-friendly working environments for R
  • Presents selected built-in functions that perform common tasks.

The course is designed to provide you with an overview of the foundations of financial accounting with a practical focus on Financial statement analysis and the valuation of public organizations. These foundations are deemed necessary in order for students to successfully pursue the course of their studies at the Master's level.

The purpose of this course is to provide you with fundamental knowledge in Marketing, and to demonstrate the key role marketing takes within any organisation. You will gain a better understanding of what marketing is and what its role in the firm is, of the process of value creation from the perspective of customers, producers, and society at large. You will be know how to mix various marketing tools and techniques in a coherent manner.

This course’s primary objective is to help you answer several important strategic questions for companies or organizations, such as: What business shall we be in? How to compete for resources and create value? How to organize for and assess performance?... The course focuses on the complex and multidimensional nature of strategic decision-making.

The course provides the framework to analyse ethical issues in business. It specifically focuses on ethical challenges in consulting, strategy and organization decisions. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to identify key ethical issues associated with strategy and management decisions, develop plans to strengthen corporate ethical practices, and apply ethics in the context of organisation hierarchies and in supply ecosystems.

The course provides an overview of financial accounting concepts and practices, including a firm’s balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, equity statement, and disclosure footnotes. You will be taught how you should, in a meaningful fashion, analyse and interpret a firm’s financial position in light of its profitability, solvency, and liquidity, with specific attention to the cash flow statement.

For companies, it is increasingly important to not only be able to operate their current business but also to explore new pockets of value that could be emerging and new to them, new to the industry or even new to the world. Innovative offerings and innovative strategies are the results of connecting previously unconnected planes of thought from within and outside of the company. This course will place you in the middle of a real-life, multi-party innovation project in which you will be challenged to develop a novel business opportunity by connecting customer desirability, technical feasibility, and financial viability. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to leverage foresight and apply strategic design tools to develop new businesses, run a multi-client project and develop clear recommendations. A course by EDHEC Chair for Foresight, Innovation & Transformation.

Information Technology has become a major organizational asset that organizational leaders need to leverage in order to reach the goals of their business strategies. In effect growing business complexity makes IT decisions a strategic endeavor that needs to be strategized for. However, paradoxically, many leaders navigate the IT landscape without the appropriate lenses that should enable sound and consistent decisions. Worse, leaders can make IT decisions, with high impact from a business standpoint, without weighing up the associated consequences. The IT Strategy course offers the key knowledge, frameworks, and understanding that should help leaders make sound IT decisions to support their business decisions.

The course explores the various modes of corporate development available to managers to achieve firm growth, including mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and joint ventures. It will equip you with a set of tools to facilitate the selection of an appropriate strategy for corporate development, provide insight into the key success factors in creating and managing inter-firm alliances and acquisitions, and provide a comprehensive framework for executing M&A from initiation to implementation.

You will learn how to analyze a firm’s organizational health, in order to make better (and evidence-based) recommendations.

Firms rely on a wide set of internal and external resources to deliver on the promises made to their clients. This course explores the strategic issues and decisions associated with the design and management of firm’s resources and their leverage to develop strategic advantages with a focus on the disruptive changes ahead. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to understand the role of operations and supply chain functions to support corporate objectives, identify megatrends and evaluate their impact on the future management of firm’s resources, with a focus on digital transformation. The course includes workshops with our consulting partners.

A master project intended for a business client requires specific attention to the elements that will provide credibility to an executive audience, with limited time, and an action-oriented mindset. This course is intended for students aiming at a career in consulting, or in the corporate strategy that are typically following the consulting format for their internal action-oriented research and communication. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to select and apply appropriate frameworks and techniques to support the analysis of real business problems and communicate robust recommendations integrating the perspective of the audience.

In front of the new business landscape (industries disruptions, competition between business models, etc.), strategic thinking and methodologies are more than ever unavoidable for exploring effective ways of sustainable value creation. This course will wrap up the structure and grids for strategic analysis, will create opportunities for strategic thinking and communication training, and will explore the business model design frameworks. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to systematically apply critical, insight-driven strategic thinking to real business problem-solving, assess and analyse a business situation from strategic and business model perspectives, communicate the outcome of this work effectively.

Again, the ISO is on hand to provide you with a list of apartments, halls of residence and other types of housing, depending on your criteria. You can even "visit" them virtually on our new housing website. The team will do everything it can to make arrangements with the property owner and secure your booking. It can also pick you up from the airport on the day of your arrival (where possible) and take you directly to your new home.
