Campus life - Career days: An early start for EDHEC’s Finance students

For two days, EDHEC’s Nice campus vibrated to the sounds of the Virtual Recruiting and Finance Career Days. More than 700 students – both from the first and final years of the Master’s programme in Financial Economics – got the opportunity to meet 43 companies seeking new talent. EDHEC Alumni also took part and shared their experiences.

In mid-September 2019, the Virtual Recruiting and Finance Career Days gave a kick-start to the recruiting events that will pave the way for EDHEC students to achieve their career goals. Not only did the students meet with companies seeking to communicate their career opportunities and identify the best talent, but they also got their first taste of the EDHEC Alumni network, through the Alumni Spotlight Day. Twenty EDHEC graduates working in consulting, banking, asset management, and other industries returned to the Nice campus to share their on-the-job experience and provide insights into how to successfully identify, find and train for the ideal internship or job.

Jimmy Anglio, a mergers and acquisitions analyst at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank and a 2018 EDHEC graduate, was one of them. “Being part of the Alumni Spotlight Day was a unique opportunity for me to connect with the current students and experience life on the ‘other side’,” he says. “The Alumni network is really powerful and EDHEC Business School has chosen the best way to leverage it. For me, it is part of my duty to give back to the School after a few years of professional experience and to give students the best advice possible to succeed in their professional life.

This year, the fair also gave female students the opportunity to participate in a women’s networking event aimed at fostering the greater representation of women in certain fields of finance.

The next career events, the Finance Career and International Career Days, will take place on 6 and 7 February 2020.
