As far as I can remember, I have always been curious about everything. Eventually, I started helping my mom to launch her business # 1, and I became her “right hand” in launching and developing franchise business # 2, starting from logistics to selling or accounting to negotiating, it was interesting & fulfilling to me. I was 16.

FROM KAZAKHSTAN TO EDHEC

In 2011, I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the Eurasian National University back in my country in order to understand what diplomacy and communication techniques are. After successful graduation, I joined an international energy contracting company as a coordinator. As my technical skills in Health & Safety evolved, I worked as a HSE Engineer, HSE Consultant and was promoted to Business Development Manager.

But I wanted more. I decided to pursue a Master’s degree.

By accident –EDHEC is not known in Kazakstan yet-, I watched on YouTube the interview of Jean-Michel Ledru, the programme director of MSc of Entrepreneurship & Innovation of EDHEC Business School, and of Siddhant Gupta, a student from India about why entrepreneurship & innovation management matters, about what value each of E&I student can bring to the company with innovative, game-changing ideas. It triggered something in me: I wanted to know more about the school and this MSc. Through my research, I found out that EDHEC was no ordinary school, it was founded by entrepreneurs in 1906 for entrepreneurs.

After a few months of preparation and with the help of Lilyana Stoilova, an International Admission Manager, here I am at the top-tier business school of France. And I love it!

Learning Digital Entrepreneurship, Lean Start-up, Innovation Management and more, I have discovered that there is no particular formula for success. My professors like Mr. Bryan Cassady taught me that I should never give up, change my ideas – yes! Change my strategy – yes! But always be persistent, focused and realistic. And stay positive! I have also studied leadership with Mrs Igne De Clippeleer and found out that being an introvert is not a bad thing! This course let me develop my leadership skills and understand my colleagues at school, way better.

Here at EDHEC with so many talented, hardworking students, I feel that I belong to this place! This atmosphere of creation, challenges thrills me. I think the collaborative work like group assignments prepare us for future jobs out there.

I look forward to my future. I want to make a positive, innovative impact. Never give up, learn from mistakes and keep moving. That is my motto!
