What was your undergraduate major before joining EDHEC?

My undergraduate degree is science and engineering, specialised in environmental engineering.

Can you briefly talk about why you choose to join EDHEC and a master in sustainable finance?

I think EDHEC is one of the few schools in the world that offers green finance programmes.
In addition, France, as the main advocate of the Paris Agreement, will have more cutting-edge knowledge related to green finance.

What was your academic experience like in your programme?

Climate change and sustainable finance, as the name indicates, we are in touch with some cutting-edge interdisciplinary subjects. Through the combination of mathematics and finance, students can use mathematical models and financial tools to conduct targeted quantitative analysis on the goal of net zero emissions in the Paris Agreement.

So far, I like the hands-on training course given to us by our corporate partner, Amundi, taught by Jiali Xu and Thierry Roncalli from the quantitative analysis team. I think that as members of the Amundi asset management team, the knowledge of mathematics and programming they impart to us is very valuable for practical exercises.

In addition, the climate economics course taught by Professor Riccardo Rebonato is also very interesting. The course uncovers the impact of climate change on economic models, involving quantitative finance.

And your living experience studying abroad?

Nice is a city by the sea, with plenty of sunshine all year round. The school has all kinds of facilities, including a gym, a terrace, and a Bloomberg trading room - I like this place very much. I have been to Marseille and Cannes. They are all coastal cities, and they can be reached directly by train. The coastline is very beautiful.

In my free time, I like to read and watch football games. Of course, going to the gym is also my daily routine. In addition, I occasionally play football with European students on weekends.

What advice do you have for students who want to apply to a master in sustainable finance?

The admission is selective, so please try to get the best scores you can in language and GPA.

Secondly, if you want to work in the financial industry in the future, you need to be prepared. The current course structure of the programme requires applicants to have a certain financial background and foundation.
